The beginning

Work generously gave me the time off and I nervously booked airline tickets and a Parisian hotel room online. It had been 17 years since I was last on a plane. Within two weeks of making the decision I was put my tent and sleeping bag in my backpack and walked to the train station and caught the train to the airport. I was on my way.
